Brief info
Joan Taylor is a life long Catholic living in Eastern North Carolina. She has been married to her husband John for 33 years and has 3 grown children along with their spouses and 3 grandchildren to date who are her pride and joy. She grew up the daughter of a US Marine with 5 sisters which gave her a broad view of the world. Her mother instilled the Faith in her girls. Joan attended Catholic schools when possible and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 1990. She has taught classical ballet at Down East Dance Studio in New Bern NC for 32 years; she has served on many non-profit boards including Craven County Health Dept. Foundation Board, Jones County Community Foundation-Current President, and Atlantic Dance Theatre where she is current Executive Director. She has also served on various school parent advisory boards including Bangert Elementary, HJ Macdonald Middle School and St. Paul Catholic School as president and Principal search committee member. Joan enjoys her family the most; teaching her students; partnering with her daughter breeding, raising and training horses on the family horse farm; gardening; travel; Catholic bible study and learning more about her Faith to share it with others. Joan and her husband John are active members of Infant of Prague Catholic Parish in Jacksonville North Carolina.
